The physiological processes in the body

In carrying out functions as a result of changes in metabolism in the body occur physical, chemical and morphological changes. Physical and chemical processes in living organisms are made by the same laws as in the inorganic nature. Therefore physiology – not only biological science, but to some extent also physics and chemistry of the body. However, fundamental, qualitative difference between the processes taking place in the animal organism, is that the high molecular weight organic compounds of living matter are special laws specific characteristic of living organisms. These laws are called physiological. In contrast to the physical and chemical processes of inanimate nature (more in the article “Chemical Reactions”) changes the body’s metabolism are reversible.

After the physiological functions of the starting materials are not destroyed irreversibly, in the inanimate world, and restored to the original, and even higher levels. Physiological processes are generally characterized by the release of much larger amounts of energy than the energy of the stimuli that caused them. Physiological processes do not meet the location, nature and strength of stimulation. However, the active function of the cells and their membranes and other cytoplasmic structures selectively transmissive and unilateral use chemicals in the process of splitting and synthesis of high and low molecular weight compounds to the specific organism, requires significant amounts of energy from food.
