Heart rate

The number of heartbeats in the adult 70-75 min. However, in healthy people there are significant deviations from this value (below 50 or above 100 per minute).
Newborn heart rate of 120-140 per minute. With age, it decreases. The horse – 30-45, the cow – 50-70, in sheep and goats – 70-80, the pig – 60-80 per minute.

In the transition from a horizontal to a vertical position, the heart rate increases.
In women it is somewhat longer than men, with an average of 5 – 10 beats per minute. During the day, the highest frequency of 8 to 11.5 hours, the lowest number of heartbeats alone there at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, and at 6-8 pm there is a new acceleration. At night during sleep number of heartbeats per minute is reduced by about 20%.

The vast majority of animals the number of heartbeats is inversely proportional to body weight. The smaller the animal, the relatively higher metabolism and blood circulation is more intense.
In the same age in people with large body size, the number of heartbeats less. The higher the growth, the less the rhythm of heartbeats of people of equal age.

Heart rate reflex increases in healthy people with an increase of ambient temperature, after meals, with emotions (fear, shame, anger et al.) And especially much during muscular work. High doses of ionizing radiation causes a person significant quickening heartbeat for many days. Heartbeat slowed down with increasing pressure in the pulmonary artery (VV Parin).
The impact on the change in frequency of the heart is designated as chronotropism. With the dramatic decrease in heart rate sick sewn under the skin pacemakers and wires with electrodes sewn into the heart muscle.
Palpitations referred to as tachycardia, a slowing – bradycardia.
